The groundbreaking of The Center of Hope in Orange County California took place on January 31,2022, during a highly attended sod-cutting ceremony. CeremonialSupplies.com is proud to have been the vendor of the groundbreaking shovels used for this inspirational occasion.
The Salvation Army California South Division in Orange County celebrated the groundbreaking for the Center of Hope, a top of the line facility designed to help thousands of Orange County’s homeless by offering support services to nurture the broken back to mental, physical, and spiritual health. The Research Hun, a research center that will work together with UCLA and UCI doctoral students to study homelessness, backs the lofty goals of the Center of Hope. This is possible through a $1 million donation by the Samueli Family Foundation. The Research Hun will be housed within The Center of Hope; the latter is a $110K partnership between The Salvation Army of Orange County, and the City of Anaheim, California. The Center of Hope will include a 325-bed, low-barrier emergency shelter, a 300-bed permanent supportive housing, and a comprehensive onsite wellness center that will offer medical, dental, mental health, and pet care services for those in need. The focus will be on helping the homeless to find or regain their dignity through the services that will be provided and incorporate back into society, with the ongoing support of a facility that is dedicated to their wellbeing.
This innovative center for research and housing will be built next to the Salvation Army’s existing 75-bed drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. The hope in The Center of Hope, is to transform lives, create safer neighborhoods and business districts, and become a real opportunity to end chronic homelessness in Orange County, and hopefully, in other counties and cities in California and beyond.
